Absolutely
not! The Programmes are based on business principles,
but it is much more: Amajobjob is a person
transformation movement.

What is Amajobjob?
SME DEVELOPMENT ORGANISATION: Amajobjob is an enterprise developer (SME)
in Pretoria, Tshwane and acertified
BEELevel 4 contributor.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ORGANISATION: Addresses poverty in South Africa face-on
through creating opportunities for previously disadvantaged
people (have not’s ) who live at the bottom
of the economic pyramid (BOP). If you
wish to contribute (click

AN ECHO CONCIOUS
MOVEMENT: Amajobjob is a GREEN PROJECT, a recycler,
a renew-er of waste, a protector of the planet.
A CREATIVITY INSTITUTE: Amajobjob is a crafting, design and
product development laboratory. It is a player
that helps break creative boundaries of design
and product development in South Africa.
A WELLNESS CENTRE FOR WHITE &
BLACK: Amajobjob is a socio- economic vitality
& wellness laboratory, a therapeutic practice,
for white and black people, to synergise,
and see each other eye to eye, to de-stress,
and to finding our purpose in a unique meaningful
way through workshops and daily work groups.
Amajobjob facilitates the creation
of products, value chains, relationships, business workshops
and community engagement opportunities.
What we realised:
The
Dung-Heap Analogy
Creative people and impoverished artisan groups alike
are generally both suffering-in-silences on their own
little South African dung heaps! Not making enough money,
going no-where slowly, and getting increasingly frustrated!
COMMUNITY
ARTISANS:
In the post-apartheid years, there has been a strong focus
on skills development of disenfranchised groups. Government,
corporate sector and donor agencies prioritise their social
responsibility budgets on ‘teaching’ baseline skills such
as crafts, sewing, mosaic and carpentry; and training in entrepreneurship.
But apart from certificates on the walls, unfortunately there
is mostly no tangible evidence that a flourishing business
exists.
Most people have still not grown from level
A to level B (click
here). They are stuck in a spiral of lack of
initiative, insufficient problem solving, lethargy without
structure and driven by an external locus of control.
Do you associate this with people that
you deal with?(click

ARTISTS/DESIGNERS AND CREATIVE PEOPLE:
An innate desire exists to make something beautiful. This
comes from being inspired in their environments; hence they
often position themselves in surroundings by the sea and the
mountains. These individuals focus on creativity, and usually
do not have a desire for repetitive manufacturing, financial
administration and people supervision.
Amajobjob is the missing link. It acts as the bridge, orchestrating
a full value chain! Whilst the designer generates inspired
designs and products, Amajobjob facilitates the incubation
of community groups towards efficient manufacturing and helps
hunt for markets for the products.
WITHIN ALL OF THIS, ITS PRIMARY OBJECTIVE IS ACHIEVED:
People Transformation... with both the initiators and implementers.
The environment and creativity, the pushing
of boundaries – all these bring about change in people’s lives.
Moving from point A to point B.
Stamp out prejudice and greed!
It is time that the South African nation started seeing each
other better; started seeing eye to eye. People should be
less skin-colour-conscious, less suspicious, less fear driven.
Together, we should be fighting for unity and peace.
Power Partnerships
Amajobjob forms relationships between the have’s (initiators)
and have not’s (implementers).
The initiators are those who can solve problems and
take initiative, create craft and design, lead transformation.
The implementers are those who have some skills and
are willing to apply them. They are willing to work
from their own premises, backyards or street corners
with Amajobjob. We have formed relationships with street
dwellers, immigrant survivalists, ex-prostitutes, ex-prisoners,
non-governmental organisations, church outreach programmes,
community groups etc.
Are you listening?
HOW TO SUCCEED IN THIS:
Have a desperate need and /
or want to be a part of transformation of themselves
and South Africa (click
here).
Have a desire to walk the talk
for change, yet feel stuck in where to start looking
Be of the realisation that
the traditional ways of philantrophy (i.e. ‘giving
handouts’) are not effective enough. That this
can create the prevailing South African culture
of entitlement, begging and ‘I want’ versus ‘I
can do’
Be either an initiator or an
implementer. A have, or a have-not.
